Millennial Reign is a Symphonic Power Metal band from Texas and is the brainchild of guitarist-Dave Harvey who formed the band back in 2010. The meaning behind the band's name is taken from biblical text found in the scriptures. The band explains: "Millennial Reign is actually a Biblical term from the Book of Revelation. It refers to the thousand-year reign of Christ after the tribulation." (Revelation 20)

       During the past 12 years, Millennial Reign has been hard at work and now has 4 full-length albums to their credit. Their discography includes 2012 - 'Millennial Reign' on an Independent label, 2015 - 'Carry The Fire' on Ulterium Records, 2018 - 'The Great Divide' on Ulterium Records, 2024 - 'World on Fire' on Ulterium Records. ​

       Over the years, this Texas outfit has performed alongside many bands including Stryper, Delain, Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall, Accept, Majestica, Petra, Y&T, Theocracy and many more. Millennial Reign has also played twice at the 'Exodo Fest' in Mexico. 

       In 2022 Millennial Reign showed no signs of stopping when they entered the studios to begin work on new material for a new album.

       In 2024 Millennial Reign released their 4th full-length studio album appropriately titled 'World on Fire' on Ulterium Records. 'World on Fire' was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Dave Harvey at The Upper Room Studio in Dallas, Texas. The album's stunning artwork was done by Jan Yrlund (Battle Beast, Apocalyptica, Delain). The production on this release is tight so hats off to Dave Harvey for his work here. Each song is energetic with a lot going on in the arrangements, which is just how we metal heads like it. There's a nice flow from track to track allowing for repeat listens. 
​       With this latest offering came a couple of changes to the band's line-up. The first change can be found within the percussion department with Steve Nichols who stepped down and was replaced by drummer-Pedro Cortes. The other change to the roster came by way of frontman-Travis Wills who left the band and was replaced by female vocalists-​Tiffany Galchutt. I'll have to be honest, when this listener saw that the band was now female fronted, I wasn't sure what to expect. Symphonic Power Metal requires nothing short of powerhouse vocals which, for the most part, are normally managed by powerful male vocalists. However, singer-​Tiffany Galchutt has pleasantly surprised me with her powerful vocals along with her different ranges that mesh perfectly with the band's arrangements. However, fans of the band will recall that this is not the first time that Tiffany was brought on to work with the band. In 2021 Tiffany managed lead vocals on the band's 4-track EP which was comprised of reimagined songs from their 2015 'Carry the Fire' album.

       With this fourth release, the well-seasoned Millennial Reign delivers up a slurry mix of Symphonic Metal, Power Metal, and Melodic Metal. With such diversity of music styles the band really appeals to a broad range of Heavy Metal listeners. Dave Harvey states: "We think this is our best release to date, hands down. It was never intentional but there has been a complete reinvention of the band. We plan to stay the course with this direction."

​       Dave Harvey manages lead guitars for the band and does nothing short of interjecting a healthy dose of electrifying energy throughout this project. Harvey's seasoned guitars move in and out from Melodic guitars to 80's style licks to soloing along with some subtle Thrash elements. 
       Pedro Cortes' drum work stands out from beginning to end with some crushing technical polyrhythmic drumming styles going on.
